Until recently certain types of businesses were expected to fill their departments with office furniture that matched the tone and demeanor of their business. Legal offices and banking were expected to use brown leather and walnut throughout their offices. Draughtsman used those high drafting tables and chairs. Businesses involved in high tech work or marketing were allowed a little more flair in their choice of office equipment. Today we expect an executive and any company we work with to be much more dynamic overall, hence a legal office may be designed with beech colored quad workstations and desktop office screens.
